How to use Generate Media

A tour of the studio: the modes, the settings, and where your photos and videos are saved.

Generate Media is the studio where you make photos and videos of your characters. This article is a tour of what's in it. For prompting tips, see How to write image prompts and How to make videos.

Where to find it

  • Open Generate Media from the menu.

  • Press Generate on any character's profile.

  • In a chat, switch the message bar to Image or Video, or open the studio from there.

The modes

  • Create Image: a new picture of your character, from templates or your own prompt.

  • Edit Image: change one thing about a picture you've already made, such as the outfit, the setting or a detail. Membership feature.

  • Animate Image: turn one of your pictures into a short clip.

  • Text to Video: describe a scene and get a clip.

  • Extend Video: add 5 or 8 seconds to a clip. Membership feature.

Settings

Open Settings in the studio to adjust:

  • Model: Muse or Morph for images, Standard or Ultra for video.

  • Aspect Ratio: portrait, landscape and other shapes.

  • Number of Images or Number of Videos: how many to make in one go. Each one is charged.

  • Optimize prompt: the prompt enhancer. On by default.

  • Negative prompt: things you want kept out of the picture.

  • Clip length and resolution, for video.

The Spunk cost is shown before you press Generate.

Where your creations go

Everything you make is saved in My AI under Media. Open any image or clip to:

  • Download it.

  • Share a link to it.

  • Edit Image, Make Video or Extend Video.

  • Add to Gallery (or Add to Profile) to show it on your character's profile. To use an image as your own profile picture, see How do I change my username or public profile?

  • Like it, so it shows under the Liked filter.

  • Post to FuckTok to share it with the community. A moderator checks every post first, and once it's approved it appears in the FuckTok feed.

  • Delete it. This is permanent. If it's in a character's gallery, remove it from there first.

How long it takes

Images take a few seconds to a minute. Clips take anywhere from about 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Short, lower-resolution clips are quickest; long Ultra clips at the highest settings take the longest. You can leave the page: we'll notify you when it's ready. If nothing arrives after 5 minutes, it's marked as timed out, but it can still finish, so check back later. See Why did my generation fail?
