Getting the most out of chat

Chat modes, writing style, models and memory, and the habits that make conversations feel real.

Chats get better the more you shape them. This guide covers the settings that change how a character writes, how memory works, and the small habits that make conversations feel real.

Open the chat menu

Press the chat menu button at the top of any chat to open its settings. You can set things for This Chat only, or change your Default so every chat starts that way. Press Use defaults to clear a chat's own settings.

Chat Mode: Texting or Roleplay

  • Texting: quick back-and-forth, the way a real DM thread reads.

  • Roleplay: immersive scenes with narrated action and description.

Switch whenever you like. The same character can text you in the afternoon and play out a scene at night.

Writing Style

Four sliders control how they write. The middle setting (Balanced, or Playful for Lust Level) is a good place to start.

  • Reply Length: from a single line to novel-length. Longer replies take longer to arrive.

  • Creativity: from predictable and easy to steer, to wild and full of surprises. Very high settings can wander off.

  • Initiative: from following your lead, to taking over and running the scene.

  • Lust Level: from warm and affectionate, through flirty, to explicit from the first line. At Playful, they're flirty by default and explicit when you go there.

Reply Format

Choose how replies are laid out: actions in italics or plain text, speech in quotes or not, inner thoughts shown or hidden, first or third person narration, and how many emoji. There's a live preview as you change them. Narration is best-effort: some models drift between replies.

Chat models

Pick the AI model that writes the replies. Each has its own voice: some are vivid and story-friendly, some punchy and playful, some better at holding long scenes. Standard models are quick for everyday replies. Advanced models give richer writing and a longer memory. Most models need a membership, and a few, marked Tier 2+, are only available on Deluxe.

Not happy with a reply? Press regenerate to get a different one (once per message), or turn on Suggested replies for tap-to-send ideas after each reply.

Memory

After about 20 messages, the character starts saving important details from your chats automatically. That's how they remember your name, your job and what happened last time. Open Memory in the chat menu to see what they've saved.

Tips for better chats

  • Give them something to react to. "Hey" gets "hey" back. A detail, a question or an action gives them a scene to work with.

  • Write actions in roleplay. Describing what you do moves the scene along: *I pull you closer by the hand*.

  • Steer gently. If a scene goes somewhere you don't want, say so in the chat or change their Initiative and Lust Level.

  • Edit your own message if they misread you, then regenerate their reply.

Photos, videos and voice in chat

Starting over

  • Reset Chat removes all messages and memories with that character but keeps the chat in your list.

  • Delete Chat removes the whole conversation.

Neither can be undone.
