How do voice calls and voice messages work?

Characters can talk out loud. You can hear any reply as a voice message, or call a character and talk in real time. Both are membership features.

Voice messages

Press Generate Voice on any reply to hear it in the character's voice. Your first two voice generations are free.

To talk instead of typing, press the microphone in the message bar to dictate. Your recording is turned into text, and you can check it before sending.

Calling a character

1. Press Call on the character's profile or in the chat.

2. Allow microphone access when your browser asks.

3. Talk. There are two ways to do it:

   • Hands-free: just speak. They listen, then answer when you stop.

   • Hold to talk: hold the button while you speak, and release to send. Useful in noisy places.

4. Press End call when you're done.

During a call you can mute your microphone and change the volume. A record of the call is added to your chat, so the character remembers what you talked about.

What it costs

A voice message costs 1 Spunk for every 330 characters, rounded up, and your first two are free. Calls use Spunk according to how much is actually said, so a short exchange costs very little. Your balance updates as you go. See What costs Spunk?

Changing a character's voice

You choose a voice when you create a character. For your own private characters, you can change it later: open Edit and pick a new Voice on the Profile tab.

Troubleshooting

• They can't hear you: check that your browser has microphone permission for fuckd.ai, and that you're not muted.

• The call won't connect: check your connection, close other apps using the microphone, and try again.

• No sound: check your device volume and the call's volume control.
